Tools: Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
Visual Design
●The study integrated aerial photography with sesame imagery and local culture to innovate beyond conventional photography styles, presenting black sesame seeds and oil in their natural, unadulterated forms.
●It highlighted the distinctiveness of black sesame seeds and oil, focusing on their natural texture, fluidity, and shine, to visually communicate the product's characteristics and the brand's identity through a black and gold colour scheme.
Packaging Design Explanation
●Transformed Sihanouk's ancient oil-making steps into a hexagonal packaging design with windows, allowing consumers to view contents, enhancing transparency and trust. ●Adopted a black and gold colour scheme, conveying a sense of nobility and elegance.
●Utilized actual photography of black sesame and oil, emphasizing the product's quality and luxury texture visually.
The packaging of black sesame oil reflects Sihanoukville's food concept and cultural values; "Closing" means "Pressing", and "Opening and Sealing" means the oil is ready. "Open" and "Pull up the bottle" represent sharing the joy of completing the oil.
A new bottle puller has been designed to prevent the shaking of bottles when lifted. It also features designs showcasing the characteristics of Sihanoukville, conveying information about its history and industries.
